Changes in the economy??
I don't know if the economy is changing or people have stopped fixing their homes up for so many years that now they have to because their landscapes are falling apart. We are very busy doing just that...fixing up tired landscapes.

Be prepared for a big Winter!

Walking Across my customers properties, I am noticing many acorns and pine cones. Above the normal amount. Last year...No acorns=mild winter...This year, a bumper crop! So be prepared. Gas for the generators, Start them up now that it is warm. I have done this for almost 30 years, Mother Nature is preparing itself. We need to prepare too!!

Celebrating our 25th Season

I am now starting my 25th season. I am proud to say that I have built a strong reputation.  I want to send out a big thank you... to everyone that has used our services in the past 25 years.  It is very rewarding to drive around town with my family, and see some of the landscapes and trees I have installed and planted, pointing them out to my kids.  There are full grown trees around town that I planted at 5-6 feet height.   It gives me a sense of pride.  I started out with a 1978 Ford pickup and a yard sale lawn mower.  I had a rake in one hand and a shovel in the other.  I think the main reason Yaitanes Landscaping has made it to its 25th year is that quality has always been my number one priority and the fact that my employees return year after year.  I believe If we always do a good job, we will always be busy... I can't wait to see what the next 25 years will bring.

   Thank you so much,

  Phil Yaitanes

Saved the Ducklings
I can't make this up! Last Friday I received a call from the Sharon Police Dept (yes I was nervous at first) commending my men for their part in saving 10 ducklings that fell in a catch basin. Mother duck walked across the grate but the ten ducklings followed each other in. I was told that when my men realized what had happened, they dropped what they were doing and ran to assist. One held the others ankles while he reached down deep and grabbed the ducklings and passed them out to the officer who would bring them to the Quacking mother.  Made me feel good to get a call like that.

I reckon it's time to mulch!
Now that the forsythia, pjm rhododendrons, and flowering ornamental trees have lost their flower petals, it is the time to start spreading mulch. I recomend 100% Hemlock to all of my customers but for those of you that prefer a little darker, we can always use pinebark mulch.

It won't be long til' we start the mowing season. We will be out fertilizing this week. If you have any questions on your lawn or landscape feel free to give me a call, Phil

Yaitanes Landscaping has started Spring Cleanups
We are done snow plowing and sanding for the season!  I am happy that the winter is finally over and we have already started with the Spring Cleanups.  The same crew has returned as they do year after year. Please remember we not only maintain lawns and spread mulch, we do it all from installing walkways and patios, powerwashing and junk removal and even more.  I see a profitable year coming even in this meek economy.  I see that houses aren't selling so people are starting to fix up their homes realizing they will be staying there for a while. See you soon, Phil
